Autonomous Administration warned of the recent Turkish escalation, and said that it “deepens the crisis and develops occupation projects and the accompanying divisive practices for Syria,” and gives a clear opportunity for the return of ISIS, calling on America and Russia to express clear and urgent positions on the Turkish escalation.
AANES warns from Turkish escalation that grants ISIS insurgency again
On Monday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement to the public opinion, in which it called on the Damascus Government and the guarantors (Russia and America) to express clear and urgent positions on the systematic Turkish escalation.
At the outset, the statement said: “In violation of all international standards and conventions, and with a public desire to expand its occupation project, Turkey is systematically escalating against north and east Syria, these regions that defended itself, the region, and the entire world against ISIS and the radical extremist factions, which portends great dangers.”
Adding, “The recent Turkish escalation against areas in Manbij, as well as in Tal Tamr and its countryside, and its targeting of areas in Qamishlo, indicates a clear desire to strike the stability of our regions, as well as giving a clear opportunity for the return of ISIS, especially in light of the set of developments that afflict the world and the region.”
Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria made an urgent appeal to the international and human rights institutions, as well as to the international coalition led by America and Russia, as the guarantors of the understandings that were made with Turkey, and all the forces keen on the stability and security of the areas liberated from ISIS, the need to express clear and urgent positions on the systematic Turkish escalation against our regions.
The administration affirmed, “This escalation at the Syrian level deepens the crisis and develops the occupation projects and the accompanying divisive practices for Syria, as well as at the regional and international levels with a quiet return of ISIS through the atmosphere and conditions that Turkey creates that contribute to the return of terrorism to Syria. This escalation is also a threat for the unity of Syria, and Damascus Government also must clarify its position in light of its continuous talk of its concern for Syrian sovereignty.”
It also directed “to our people, with their various social and political components, to support the gains that have been achieved thanks to the sacrifices of our sons and daughters, and to go out at home and abroad with marches condemning this Turkish aggression.”
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria pledged to our people, at the conclusion of its statement, “that we in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, in addition to our commitment to the ceasefire process, we will continue with all our capabilities to stand against these escalations against our people and we will perform our responsibilities in accordance with what achieves the security and safety of our people and prevents their gains from being compromised.”
