The intellectuals of the Kurdistan Democratic Party demanded to stay away from its partisan interests and work for the Kurdish people’s interest, and they said, “The time has come to unite the lands of Kurdistan, unite the Kurdish ranks, and move away from deals and interests with the Turkish occupation state.”
Since the end of April of this year, the Turkish occupation army has been launching attacks on the areas of Southern Kurdistan, in coordination with the Kurdistan Democratic Party which is pushing its forces to besiege the People’s Defense Forces’ areas and launch attacks on them.
Intellectuals: We need unity instead of negotiating with Kurds and Kurdistan enemies
Intellectuals from the ad-Darbasiyah district pointed out that Kurdish unity will not be achieved in light of the support of some Kurdish parties to the Kurdish people’s enemies, and they should avoid doing that first.
Writer and Member of the Intellectuals’ Union of ad-Darbasiyah district, Ahmed Suleiman, said, “The Turkish occupation always attacks and targets the Kurdish people wherever they are, and today we see that some parties in Southern Kurdistan are working for their political interests that serve the Kurdish people’s enemies, instead of standing beside the Kurdish people in the face of enemies.”
This phase needs support and assistance
He added, “The stage that the Kurdish people are going through is very sensitive, but we are watching that some parties in Southern Kurdistan are negotiating with the Kurdish people’s enemies against their people. This stage needs support and assistance while we see the opposite.”
Suleiman called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party, saying, “The Democratic Party is not a new party. It also resisted and gave many martyrs. They should not forget the sacrifices of those martyrs. They must support their Kurdish brothers against an enemy like the Turkish occupation.”
Occupation is always defeated by the people’s will
In his turn, Writer Akram Darwish said, “Since the Turkish occupation attacked the legitimate defense zones, these attacks have not been victorious thanks to the resistance of the Guerrilla forces who are fighting and struggling in the mountains to defend the lands of Kurdistan, and he continued, “The Turkish occupation is always defeated before the will of this people.”
He added, “Commander Murad Qereylan has many times warned the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Kurdish people, asking them not to be drawn into the strife that Turkey aims to create, and stressed that they do not want to engage in a fight against Kurds.”
Darwish stressed that the government of Southern Kurdistan is not concerned with the Kurdish people’s fate, but rather is working for its economic interests with Turkey.
Parties in Southern Kurdistan should reconsider their policies
Darwish touched on the cessation of the Kurdish dialogue, saying: “As long as some parties work with Turkey, these dialogues will not reach a result. These parties must reconsider their policies and work for the benefit of their people.”
Writer Akram Darwish concluded by saying, “The responsibility and interest of the Kurdish people rest with the Kurdish parties, intellectuals, and artists. We must work alongside each other and work on the need to unite Kurds and not be drawn into schemes that are being hatched against the Kurdish people.”
